Sudoku Game Rules
Use only 1–9. No repeats in any row, column, or box. Starting clues stay. A number that fits a row can still be banned by its box. Valid published puzzles can be finished without guessing, though humans still guess and regret it. Difficulty on sudoku.com is a label about how scarce the givens and techniques feel, not a different rule set. Finish when the grid is full and every house is a permutation of 1–9.
- Fill Sudoku so each row, column, and 3×3 contains 1–9 once.
- Given digits cannot be changed.
- Repeats in any house are illegal.
