What is Hexcodle?
Hexcodle is a daily color-code hunt. A target swatch sits on screen and you have five tries to type the exact six-digit hex (#RRGGBB) that paints it. Each miss puts your guessed color beside the target and marks every hex character with a check or an arrow.
It is number search dressed as design trivia. Two shades can look almost identical and still sit many hex steps apart, so Hexcodle pays for digit-by-digit logic more than a casual “it looks teal.”
Hexcodle Game Rules
Type any valid six-character hex using 0–9 and A–F. After a miss, Hexcodle scores each digit: a check is exact; a single up or down arrow means you are slightly low or high; a double arrow means you are far. Raise digits that are too low, lower digits that are too high, and lock checks. Hard mode can hide the magnitude so you only see direction. Only the exact code wins.
- Find the daily target’s exact six-digit hex in five Hexcodle tries.
- Each digit gets a check, ↑/↓, or ↑↑/↓↓ for direction and rough distance.
- Valid guesses use 0–9 and A–F; the target color stays visible.
- Hard mode drops the double-arrow distance hint.
How to play Hexcodle?
Press Play on this listing to open official Hexcodle. Sketch red, green, and blue as hex pairs, then let the per-digit arrows do the fine work.
- Look at the Hexcodle target square and enter a first #RRGGBB guess.
- Keep every checked digit; raise or lower the rest as the arrows say.
- Use single arrows for small nudges and double arrows for big jumps.
- Submit the exact code before guess five.
Hexcodle Strategy & Tips
Treat the six digits as six independent hunts. A binary search from 8 is faster than staring at the two squares. Convert a rough RGB read into two-digit hex pairs, then stop trusting the picture once arrows exist. Visually close colors are still wrong if one nibble is off. In hard mode, keep a mental range per digit instead of waiting for double arrows.
- Search each Hexcodle digit separately; they do not share one range.
- Start mid-scale (around 8) and halve the remaining hex span.
- Trust arrows over “the two squares look the same.”
