What is Francele?

Francele is a daily geography game about French departments, not countries or world capitals. You see a department outline and guess its name. Misses return distance and direction so you can walk the map of France. It plays in a Worldle-style loop, but the atlas is départements.

You do not need every shape memorized. Coast, compactness, and odd borders suggest a region; the km and arrow finish the hunt. Bonus rounds after the main puzzle add extra French geography if you want them.

Francele Game Rules

Each day shows one department silhouette. Enter a French department. If you miss, Francele reports how far you are and which way to move. Shape plus feedback is the whole loop. Fewer guesses is the better score. Bonus trivia may appear after you solve. Similar inland outlines are why you should not ignore the compass.

  • Identify the French department from its outline in Francele.
  • Wrong guesses give distance and direction toward the target.
  • Use shape and location together; many departments look alike.
  • A new outline appears daily; bonus rounds may follow the main solve.

How to play Francele?

Press Play on this listing to open official Francele. Read the outline for coast, islands, or mountain edges, then guess a department in that kind of region and follow the arrow.

  1. Study the Francele silhouette for coastline, length, and unusual borders.
  2. Submit a department you believe sits in that part of France.
  3. Use the distance and direction to jump toward Brittany, the Alps, Corsica, or another area.
  4. Combine the remaining shape with neighbors until the department name matches.

Francele Strategy & Tips

Decide coast versus inland first. Atlantic, Channel, Mediterranean, and Corsican shapes are different families. Start in a broad région, then let km tell you whether to hop departments or cross the country. Irregular inland outlines need neighbors more than a famous name. Shape alone is a trap; Francele’s arrow is half the puzzle.

  • Sort Francele outlines by coast, island, or inland mountain first.
  • Follow distance and direction instead of random famous départements.
  • Use neighboring departments once the remaining km is small.
