What is Rotaboxes?
Rotaboxes is a daily photo reconstruction: the picture is sliced into squares that stay in their grid cells but are rotated 90°, 180°, or 270°. You click a tile’s right edge for clockwise and left for counter-clockwise. Nothing swaps places. Horizons stand on end until lines and textures meet again.
Solving the photo is step one; matching the ideal click count is the real score. Rotaboxes is not Rotatly. Rotatly rotates groups of four logic cells to match an outline. Rotaboxes is a visual jigsaw that only twists in place.
Rotaboxes Game Rules
Tiles do not drag. Each click is a 90° turn. Use borders: roads, branches, shadows, horizons. Click total is tracked against an ideal. A three-second preview of the finished photo costs one extra click. The puzzle ends when every square faces the original orientation.
- Rotate Rotaboxes tiles in place; do not swap them.
- Left click versus right click chooses turn direction.
- Chase the ideal click count, not only a finished photo.
- Preview adds a click; Rotatly is a different logic listing.
How to play Rotaboxes?
Press Play on this listing to open official Rotaboxes. Fix obvious subjects (sky, faces, text) first, then walk continuity across edges. Use the short preview only when textures are repetitive.
- Scan Rotaboxes for tiles with a clear up direction.
- Rotate an anchor square the short way (90°, not 270°).
- Align neighbors so lines and colors continue.
- Finish remaining tiles and compare clicks with the ideal.
Rotaboxes Strategy & Tips
Anchors with gravity (people, buildings, hanging objects) beat abstract water. Work outward along a road or shoreline that crosses several tiles. Direction choice matters for the ideal: one counter-clockwise click beats three clockwise. Save preview for fur, leaves, or sand where orientation is genuinely ambiguous. Rotaboxes rewards visual continuity, not combo routing like Rotatly.
- Start Rotaboxes on tiles with obvious gravity.
- Follow border continuity instead of random spinning.
- Pay a preview click only at a real deadlock.
