What is Historydle?

Historydle is a daily who-is-it puzzle. Each day hides a real historical figure, and you unmask them by guessing names. Wrong answers still pay: Historydle compares traits such as era, region, role, gender, and status with green, yellow, and gray marks. Quote, Portrait, and Places modes swap the opening clue for a line, a face, or a landmark.

It is not Histodle. Histodle asks for the year of an event. Historydle wants the person. A green century with a gray profession means you are in the right window with the wrong job, not that you should start typing dates.

Historydle Game Rules

Pick Classic, Quote, Portrait, or Places. Type a historical name. Historydle scores that person’s attributes against the secret. Green is an exact match on that column, yellow is close, gray is out. Clues tighten as you guess. One puzzle per mode per day. Win by naming the exact figure; the score is how many guesses you needed.

  • Identify Historydle’s daily figure; Classic compares era, region, role, and more.
  • Quote, Portrait, and Places open with a line, face, or landmark instead.
  • Green, yellow, and gray mark how each trait compares to the secret.
  • This is a person hunt, not Histodle’s year-of-the-event game.

How to play Historydle?

Press Play on this listing to open official Historydle. Use a famous name as a probe, then follow the color columns into the right century and job.

  1. Choose Classic or another Historydle mode and read the first clue.
  2. Guess a well-known figure to test era, region, and role at once.
  3. Keep green columns, drop gray paths, and treat yellow as a nearby miss.
  4. Submit the matching name once the remaining profile is unique.

Historydle Strategy & Tips

Open with a high-information person (a European ruler, a scientist, a revolutionary) so the first color row carves continents and centuries. If era is green and role is gray, stop naming people with the wrong job in that century. Quote and Portrait reward recognition; Places rewards geography. The pool is real figures, so yesterday’s answer will not return as today’s.

  • Let Historydle colors kill whole regions and jobs, not just one name.
  • Stay inside a green era until a later clue forces a jump.
  • Play all four modes if you want quotes, faces, and landmarks as well as Classic.
