What is Far Out?
Far Out is a daily estimation quiz with three numerical questions and a score that starts at 100. Each unit you miss by is a point gone. A near miss nicks you; one theatrical guess can flatten the run toward zero.
Questions jump topics: episode counts, ages, distances, dates. Far Out rewards calm approximation when you do not know the fact. It is a three-question score defense, not five locked trivia shots and not a photo object-count.
Far Out Game Rules
Submit a number for every question. The absolute difference is subtracted from your remaining score. An exact hit costs nothing. If you hit zero you may finish the quiz, but the result stays 0. The published score is out of 100 after all three items.
- Start Far Out with 100 points and three number questions.
- Miss-by-N deducts N points from the running total.
- Exact answers cost zero; wild misses can empty the score.
- Final result is whatever remains after question three.

- Protect the leftover points on the last, often strangest, item.
Far Out Strategy & Tips
Break scary totals into per-day or per-year chunks, then multiply. Compare unknowns to a city, a year, or a familiar length. Units and wording matter: millions versus thousands can erase the entire Far Out score. When you have no calculation, pick a middle value rather than an extreme.
- Decompose Far Out questions into smaller known facts.
- Never ignore units; they cause the biggest crashes.
- Prefer a moderate miss over a spectacular wrong order of magnitude.
