What is Verticle?
Verticle is a daily five-letter Wordle-style puzzle with the board mentally rotated. You still get six guesses. Each guess sits above the secret. Tile colors tell you how that letter relates to the letter in the same column of the hidden word, as if the answer lives on the bottom row and every clue points down.
It is not Valodle (Valorant agents), Viewdle (country from a view), or Vroomdle (cars). Verticle is spelling, with columns as tunnels of evidence. Seasoned Wordle habits still work; the disorientation is the point.
Verticle Game Rules
Type a valid five-letter word. Colors follow the usual language, read per column: green matches the hidden letter in that column; yellow belongs in the word but not that column; gray is unused. A green locks a column, not merely a pretty row. Yellows must move to other columns. On the last guess the solution is still a normal horizontal word. Six tries to line the vertical trail up.
- Guess the Verticle word in six tries.
- Read greens, yellows, and grays as column signals toward the bottom secret.
- Green locks a column; yellow letters must change columns.
- Word puzzle only—not Valodle, Viewdle, or Vroomdle.
How to play Verticle?
Press Play on this listing to open official Verticle. Open with a vowel-rich probe, then look down columns instead of only across the newest row.
- Enter a first five-letter Verticle guess and read the column colors.
- Keep greens in their columns on later guesses.
- Move yellow letters into new columns.
- Complete the word before guess six.
Verticle Strategy & Tips
Treat each column as its own mini-mystery. Compare history down the board, not just the latest row. Greens are sacred anchors. Relocate yellows immediately instead of repeating the same slot. Strong openers still help. If you wanted agents, scenery, or cars, those are Valodle, Viewdle, and Vroomdle.
- Read Verticle down the columns, not only left to right.
- Hold greens; migrate yellows.
- Start with vowel-rich words to stock the column tunnels.
